Dental Crowns, Bridges and Dentures in Prague 8
A missing tooth can be replaced in several ways, and what mostly separates them is how well the replacement holds and how visible it is. We go through the options and the prices with you first.

Removable dentures
A removable denture is the answer when a larger number of teeth are missing. A standard partial denture in the version covered by insurance carries no surcharge. The more comfortable option is Deflex from CZK 14,000 per arch — it is flexible, has no visible metal clasps and stays in place noticeably better.
A complete denture for a toothless arch starts at CZK 8,000. If a denture will not stay in place, the answer is an implant-supported denture on two implants at CZK 50,000 per arch, which we describe on our dental implants page.
Dental crowns
A crown goes on a tooth where too little is left for an ordinary filling, or after root canal treatment. We offer two versions and the difference is mainly in appearance.
- Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown from CZK 8,500. A metal core with a ceramic surface. Strong, and well suited to back teeth where it is less visible.
- All-ceramic crown from CZK 10,000. Metal free, and it transmits light much like a natural tooth. This is what we choose for front teeth, where appearance matters most.
- Post and core build-up from CZK 4,000. Needed where only the root of the tooth is left and a crown has nothing to hold on to.
Dental bridges
A bridge replaces a missing tooth by resting on the two teeth either side. The price is made up of the individual crowns, so a three-unit porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge works out at roughly CZK 25,500 and up. The advantage is a fixed solution with no surgery; the drawback is that the healthy neighbouring teeth have to be reduced.
If you would rather leave those teeth alone, the alternative is an implant from CZK 25,000 including the crown. It costs much the same as a three-unit bridge and the surrounding teeth stay untouched.
Veneers
A veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the front surface of a tooth. It corrects shape, colour and small gaps. The price is CZK 10,000 per tooth — not for the whole smile. Most patients treat six to eight front teeth.
There are two stages. First we prepare the tooth and take an impression; then the veneer is made in the laboratory and fitted at a second visit.

A bridge is priced as a set of individual crowns, so a three-unit porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge works out from roughly CZK 25,500 and an all-ceramic one from about CZK 30,000. We confirm the exact price after an X-ray, which is covered by insurance.
How much does a removable denture cost?

Are crowns, bridges or veneers covered by insurance?
No. Crowns, bridges and veneers in the versions we offer are paid in full by the patient. Insurance does cover the initial examination, the X-ray and local anaesthesia, so the consultation before you decide costs you nothing.
How much does a post and core build-up cost, and when is a tooth beyond saving?
A post and core build-up costs from CZK 4,000. A tooth can be saved as long as enough healthy tissue remains above the gum for a crown to hold on to. If it has broken below bone level, we look at extraction and an implant instead.
Will I have temporary teeth while the permanent ones are made?
Yes. A temporary crown costs from CZK 1,000 and a temporary filling from CZK 400. With removable dentures we arrange a temporary solution to suit the case, so you are not left without front teeth.
How long do crowns and dentures last?
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups a crown lasts ten years and more. With removable dentures the shape of the gum changes over time, so after a few years the denture needs relining to fit again.
